Healthy mindset workshop

The Southport Gymnastics Committee and our coaches would like to invite parents and gymnasts of level 4 to 8 to a Healthy Mindset workshop specifically designed for your gymnast's needs.

This workshop will be facilitated by a qualified psychologist and a registered experienced teacher (from Get Mentally Fit) and will aim to build a healthy mindset for life to better balance their academic and co-curricular demands as aspiring athletes.

During the workshop gymnasts from level 4-8 will:

• learn the difference between a Growth and Fixed Mindset;

• learn evidence-based mental fitness strategies and stress management skills that will support a healthy, high-performance mindset;

• learn self & emotional regulation (within self and others) exercises to support the development of greater levels of emotional and life control;

• learn to sustain the knowledge to develop a healthy mindset for life and develop the behaviours of a high-performance student athlete.

As parents you are also more than welcome to watch the sessions as well.
