What a wonderful year we have had in 2022. Thank you to each and every one of our gymnasts, parents, coaches and supporters – we couldn’t have done it without you.
New equipment installed
Looking forward to 2023, we have some amazing plans for Southport Gymnastics Club. At this stage our new equipment will be installed in the first few weeks of January. While we are still on track to return to training from January 16, this first week we may be utilising different venues for training as the final touches are put on the inside of the club. We will provide detailed information and training plans for this first week back as it gets closer and appreciate your understanding during this short time as the $200,000 worth of equipment is for the benefit of our gymnasts’ long term. Recreational program restructure
We are excited to announce that we have restructured our recreational program to allow for greater pathways to join our competition teams, should you wish to progress this way. This restructure also offers a more structured framework for development and progression through recreational levels.
FIG 2 accreditation
Congratulations to Coach V for achieving her FIG 2 accreditation. She has worked tirelessly to achieve this exceptionally high standard of qualification and we are proud of you. This accreditation provides Coach V with the skills and knowledge to coach athletes up to national or international level and apply high performance systems. Our Coach Max also holds this qualification. This is fantastic news for our gymnasts who in the past have had to travel to Brisbane in order to receive this high level of coaching.
Gala 2022
What an amazing day our 2022 Gala celebration was. From our Gym Tots and Tumblers through to our competition squads, all our gymnasts had the chance to demonstrate their hard work and dedication throughout the year. You can see all the photos from the day here.
