Term 4, 2023 Newsletter

What a fantastic year we’ve had! The Committee and Coaching team would like to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to Southport Gymnastics Club. Without you it wouldn’t be the place it is with fantastic community support and a safe place for our gymnasts to thrive.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Helensvale Bowls Club for our End of Year Celebration.

We also showcased our recreational at our Recreational Gala Showcase. It was show great to see how much improvement has been made across the year.

We had a number of gymnasts selected for the Junior and Senior Development Clinics held by Gymnastics Queensland during November. Well done to the gymnasts involved.

This weekend our Senior Gymnasts will undertake a workshop delivered by Gold Coast Academy of Sport covering topics such as time management, leadership and sport psychology. This is part of an ongoing partnership with GCAS that we hope to continue to offer and tailor programs for our younger gymnasts.

Coaching staff update

We are delighted to announce that Coach Maddy has joined the Southport Gymnastics team as Head Coach starting immediately. • Competitive squads

Please see Skye if you would like to enquire about any of these classes for your gymnast.

We are again offering our School Holiday Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the holiday period. See our facebook page for details and tell as many friends as you can.

In the first quarter of 2024, we will see some new equipment installed in our Club. This includes new pit edging, new uneven bars, a spotting platform for the bars, FIG beam, FIG beat board, vault, training beam, spotting boxes and landing boxes. This is very exciting and completes our Club renovations and equipment install.
